Over 75% of Blindness is curable

Cataract surgery is a procedure to remove the lens of the eye and, replace it with an artificial lens.

A cataract causes the lens to become cloudy when it is typically clear. Cataracts can eventually affect vision and are the world’s leading cause of blindness.

If you have cataracts, your vision is impacted and things can start to look dim, blurred, or distorted – as if you are seeing things through a dirty glass. Colours, and details can be hard to make out.

Increasing affordability problem

In countries such as Pakistan, people can go blind with Cataract due to not being able to afford the operation or having the means to travel to hospitals.

Since 2022, NFMF has held Field Cataract Eye camps in rural villages in Pakistan using highly skilled doctors and ensuring the care of all our patients with compassion and empathy.

Our aim is to provide access to quality health care for those who would not otherwise have the access.
